Applications are invited for a PhD fellowship at KU Leuven - Campus Ghent. This PhD project is a collaboration between the Departments of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, focusing on both materials and operational aspects. The successful candidate will join the esteemed “Mecha(tro)nic System Dynamics” and “Materials Performance and Nondestructive Testing” Divisions of KU Leuven.
The project aims to develop robust monitoring and damage assessment tools for complex industrial structures. Applicants should have a background in natural or engineering sciences, with knowledge in structural monitoring, engineering mechanics, numerical modelling, or data post-processing.
Candidates are expected to contribute significantly to the project. An appropriate background in natural or engineering sciences is required, demonstrating consistent knowledge in relevant areas.
