Work Activities Wave-based Computing with Programmable Optical Metasurfaces
Design metasurfaces to perform image processing tasks, such as feature extraction and algorithm execution, in the optical domain. Explore the potential of stacking metasurfaces for complex algorithms. Conduct electromagnetic design, optimization, and optical experiments to demonstrate these concepts.
Develop programmable, trainable, and dynamically reconfigurable metasurfaces using novel materials like phase change materials. Investigate the energy and speed limits of these materials. Train active metasurfaces to perform all-optical neural network functions and explore their potential applications.
