At the Center for Energy, we are dedicated to developing innovative solutions for future transportation and energy challenges. Our key projects focus on e-mobility, energy consumption, and energy systems, aiming to enhance the impact of e-mobility on the energy system and contribute to the European Union's climate goals.
As a PhD student in our team based in Vienna, you will have the unique opportunity to tailor your research topic based on your expertise, interests, and ongoing research. Your main goal will be to develop AI-based methods to create surrogate functions, accelerating evaluation processes during optimization approaches. This work will directly contribute to the development of a resilient and sustainable transport network and efficient electric vehicle charging management.
PhD Thesis “Sustainable AI in E-Mobility and Energy Integration”
Advance statistical models related to user behavior, charging strategies, and vehicle usage, integrating them into comprehensive mobility and energy system models.
Develop and apply new methods, conduct large-scale simulations, and analyze data to provide critical decision support for the mobility and energy revolution.
Interpret results and offer impactful recommendations for policymakers to advance climate targets, focusing on decarbonizing the mobility sector.
Forecast the impacts of the (e-)mobility sector on the energy sector from 2030 to 2050.
Plan, execute, and evaluate studies independently, prepare results for documentation and presentation, and contribute to influential research outcomes.
Contribute to a sustainable future by presenting your findings at international conferences and publishing in esteemed journals, gaining recognition in your field.
