The media psychology lab at KU Leuven, formerly known as the School for Mass Communication Research, is a trailblazer in media effects research. Its mission is to provide robust evidence on the adverse and beneficial effects of media, offering insights into how media can be used to achieve socially relevant goals. Recent studies have focused on issues such as alcohol and drug abuse, sexuality and sexism, mental health, body image, sustainability, and sleep.
Under the leadership of Prof. Beullens, the lab conducts research on digital media use, media psychology, and health communication. Currently, there is an opportunity for a researcher to contribute to the final stage of a project conducted for Kom op tegen Kanker.
