We are seeking 1-2 Postdoctoral Researchers (Scholarship) with a keen interest in Adoptive Cell Therapy and its application as a treatment. By joining our team, you will engage in translational research aimed at enhancing cell therapy for patients with gynecological cancer or melanoma.

Division:

You will join the Stina Wickström/Rolf Kiessling research team, focusing on improving existing and developing new T cell products for adoptive cell therapy to treat gynecological cancer or melanoma.

Duties

We are looking for highly motivated individuals with a strong background in immunology and tumor biology. The projects involve developing human T cell technologies and evaluating T cells from blood/tumor tissue of cancer patients, T cell repertoires, and T cell function. The overall aim is to develop novel immunotherapies against cancer. Your daily tasks will include primary cell culture, FACS analysis, functional T cell assays, sample collection, etc.

Entry Requirements

Scholarships for postdoctoral qualification can be established for foreign researchers placing their qualifications in Sweden. The purpose is to promote internationalization and contribute to research qualification after a doctorate or equivalent. A scholarship for postdoctoral research can be granted for a maximum of two years within a four-year period following the receipt of a doctoral degree or equivalent. To be eligible, the applicant must have obtained a doctorate or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a doctorate. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate by the end of the application period may also apply, provided all requirements for a completed degree are met before the intended start date of the postdoctoral education. The head of the department determines if previous training and scholarly qualifications correspond to a Swedish doctorate or higher.

Qualifications:

  • Verified skills in tumor immunology and immunotherapy of cancer, with methodological expertise in human cellular immunology research.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Self-motivated with good communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively and work within a team.

Location:

Solna

The position will be at Karolinska Institutet or at Radiumhemmets forskningsfonder with an affiliation to Karolinska Institutet.

Type of Scholarship

The amount is tax-free and set for twelve months at a time, paid out on a six-month basis. In exceptional cases, shorter periods may be acceptable.
